Neilson Street roadworks: 8pm Friday 6 January 8pm–5am Monday 9 January 2012
- Neilson St between Galway and Onehunga Mall (Rail Bridge section) going west will be closed
- Detour will be turn right into Galway St, left into Princes, straight through Princes Selwyn St Lights, turn left Gloucester Park Road, straight onto Motorway on ramp.
- Postponement should it rain will be advised
Onehunga Harbour Road: planned roadworks - January 13 - 16, 2012
Full weekend road closure: Work is form the Onehunga Mall cul de sac to under Motorway Bridge. Full closure of Onehunga Harbour Road including Motorway on-ramp and off-ramp is required for this work

Note the following changes to this document:
- The road will be closed from 12 midnight till 5am Monday morning
- The raindate will not be the following weekend due to Big Day Out.
- Traffic can get to The Landing Seafood Restaurant & Bar and motel but will need to go to Queenstown Rd and follow the detour.
Nielson Street Upgrade: Stage 3 T2 Lane upgrade
Progress update as at December 2011:
- On target to finish end of March 2012
- All services have been relocated
- Early January will be starting the curb and channel work with new pavement
- Involve lane rather than road closures
- Any road closures if needed will be informed closer to the time.
Auckland Transport will undertake the planned upgrade of Neilson Street between O’Rorke Street and Gloucester Park Road through to the SH20 south bound motorway.
This work is expected to commence on 1 November 2011 with an expected completion in mid 2012.
Work includes:
- Road widening of Neilson Street between O’Rorke Street intersection through to the SH 20 motorway on ramp to incorporate a T2 truck lane
- Intersection upgrades along Neilson Street at Gloucester Park Road and Selwyn Street
- flush medians, street lighting
- utility works
- traffic lights
- retaining wall construction
- fencing, footpath, minor property upgrades, road markings, landscaping and tree planting

To improve the east bound traffic flow, a clearway sign will be installed between Selwyn Street and Onehunga Mall between the peak hours of 7am and 9am, Monday to Friday. Outside these hours on street parking will be available for residents and business users.
An approved Temporary Traffic Management Plan will be implemented during the construction. Every effort will be made to minimise disruption of traffic flow. At least one lane will remain open in each direction during the works and access to businesses will be maintained at all times.
